House Washing

Definition

House washing is cleaning the exterior siding, soffits, and trim of a home, almost always with a low-pressure soft wash rather than high pressure that would force water behind the cladding.

A proper house wash applies a dilute sodium hypochlorite and surfactant mix, lets it dwell to kill mold and algae, and rinses. High pressure on siding drives water under laps and into the wall, so the method of choice is soft washing at a roughly 1% solution.

House washing is the bread-and-butter residential service: fast, repeatable, and easy to rebook on a cycle. Tight clusters of house washes are where route density pays off, since the jobs are short and the drive between them is the main cost.
